  1. I have a pool that I'm downsizing and it currently is down to a single 4 TB drive. The DB Console is reporting that the pool is over 83 TB. Screen shots - https://imgur.com/a/3jir69H. Running a file validation pass corrects it but it just comes back. I've opened a support ticket, but just checking if anyone else as seen this.
  2. Change log has typo in release date https://www.division-m.com/downloads/drive-bender-change-log.html Release v3.1.0.0 release (2018-12-03) s/b 2018-12-30
  3. Late to the game, just installed 3.0.9.0. All of the SMART statuses are N/A. The Drive Bender smart service is running. I've rebooted 2x since install and it's been 24 hours. Since I can only post .05mb, here is a link to the screen shots - https://imgur.com/a/anvdJIV
  4. I guess that's what backups are for. My backup pool is read only to the world and I user RDP to get to it and then run a file sync that pulls data to it rather than pushing. For backups of the family laptops I'm using Veeam. The config has it's own path and a separate userid/password that has write access (different from the local user).
  5. I find Crystal Disk Info (https://crystalmark.info/en/ ) much easier to understand. Plus it does temperature monitoring. It calls out each of the SMART factors so you know the nature of the issue. Did scroll to the bottom of the disk info pop-out and look at the S.M.A.R.T status list or click on Show S.M.A.R.T attributes to see the actual issues?
  6. I don't think so. I don't recall anything in the SMB protocol requiring the remote client to pass the name of the program doing the access. You should secure your share using local user IDs with the appropriate access levels. take a look at http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs-permissions-combined.htm
  7. Ok, I need a diagram. A) You have PC1 that has some local disk, a landing zone disk/ssd, you have also used the "Add Network Drive" feature to include the NAS in the pool. B) you have a NAS that is part of the pool. C) you have a Radarr box that stores it's content on the pool using the Pools drive letter. I don't understand why the Radarr box is even looking at the NAS. The raddar box shouldn't know that it's writing to the landing zone as that is DB's job to manage. This is what I'd do. On PC1 lets assume the DB pool is assigned drive letter P: and the raddar content is to be dropped into P:\downloads\raddar\ If you haven't already I'd create a user ID on PC1 for the raddar process e.g. raddar_user. I'd then create create a share called PC1\Raddar by going to the P:\downloads\ directory, right click on the raddar folder and select "give access to" or Share (depending on the OS), lets call this share "raddar_drop". I'd give the PC1 user raddar_user full acesss. (I'm limiting it to the p:\downloads\raddar folder so malware is limited to the raddar folder on PC1. Back on the Raddar box, I'd configure radar to access the \\PC1\raddar_drop share and use the user/pw for pc1\raddar_user for authentication. So during the writing of files to the PC1 box the network traffic will be Raddar-box > PC1 but later after the landing zone clears (hours latter) the traffic will be Radar-box <-> PC1 <->NAS.
  8. Running v2.8.0.0 on Windows 10 Pro. I've submitted a support request, but wonder if anyone else has seen this? I'm getting an error report from DB: The Drive Bender server (Z420) has sent the following notification: A folder is missing from one of the pooled drives. - FolderName: "\{FB7F0C47-7844-40ED-BCD9-16A5D8756DBF}\DL\fonts\Font Collection\Font Collection.zip". This is the 2nd time the pool has generated a FOLDER on the pool drives for a file. I do not have any duplication enabled. I've attached the DriveBender log screenshot. It is clearly trying to create folders with the same name as the .zip file. The pool view shows just an actual .ZIP file. 9. I thought I'd share my stats. Some files are very old! 10. Drive Bender doesn't keep a database of files in the pool. There is a function to check duplication status. I think the only way to do this would be to get a directory listing of the current pool and your backup and compare them. On your local pool it could be as simple as Dir /s /b /a:-d | sort > sortedfilelist.txt
  11. Added to what w3wikes stated, you could disable the DB service instance reboot. the pool should be gone but the drives visible. Since your drive 1 is to be replaced, shut down and remove one of the drives 2-4 and replace it with the new larger drive, and reboot. Copy the content of drive 1 pool folders to the empty new drive. re-enable the DB service. shut down and swap out drive 1 for new drive put in the removed drive (2-4) boot. you should be good. If you are not, you can still put back old drive 1 and be back where you started.
  12. Do the drives still have the {nnnn-nnnn etc} folders on them? Why did you issues the remove command?
  13. Db sometimes has higher CPU when managing any io. Servio may be doing indexing or media lookups. I have Plex on my db box. I'll check later when I get home.
  14. Did you review the setting in balancing? The default is to clear the landing zone once a day or when it gets to disk full %. I thinkmyou need balancing enabled as well (but not sure). I bet the landing zone needs to be larger than the largest file.
  15. I needed more SATA ports so I added a Dell H310 raid controller, flashed to IT mode. All the disks attached to it are recognized by the OS and by Drive Bender, but Drive Bender's SMART software is not seeing the SMART data. I also had this issue with Crystal Disk Info, but resolved it by enabling ATA Pass Through. Using command line smartctrl.exe from www.smartmontools.org using the command -d SAT enables smart data collection. e.g. smartctl -d sat -a /dev/sda or smartctl -d ata -a /dev/sda Any way to enable ATA pass through? The HDSentinal site says the H310 is compatible: https://www.hdsentinel.com/compatibility_disk_controllers.php Also the trial version of HDSentinal Pro does report the drives attached to the Dell H310 card.
  16. I agree. I think you should also post this in the Feature Request section. I'll up vote for you!
  17. No, i thought the op is on a windows insider build. But I'm wrong anyway as 1709 isn't insider. My bad.
  18. Ok, you are the 2nd person reporting issues with the latest insider build. Do open a support ticket.
  19. Yes, open case. Just noticed you are on the latest insider build. https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2017/12/19/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-17063-pc/#d28WAIm5cFGfFCiF.97
  20. Gonna need a bit more info. First, you should not have lost any data as the files will still be on the underlying drives. You may need to enable viewing of hidden files to see the {xxx} folders the are the pool. What version of DB are you using? I'm on 2.8.0.0 and have no issues o. Win10. Can you check the Windows system & app event logs for errors during install and start up? In Services, is the Drivebender service running?
  21. I see this error code in many postings about windows so it might not be Drivebender. Can you replicate this doing the copy locally on your server between non pool and the pool? e.g. is this a server side issue? Can you replicate copying from your computer to a share on the server not in the pool. E.g is this an pc/network issue?
  22. i'm on 2.8.0.0. need to update sig. what was really odd was the file showing up twice in the pool.
  23. Looking for help figuring out the cause of duplicate primary files. Some weeks ago I added new drives to the pool and re-balanced. This pool is my backup pool and files are only added via a share (\\server\pool\). The duplicate primary files are on two of the three drives I added back on 11/24/17. This AM, Drive Bender v2.8.0.0 gave me an alert that there was a duplicate primary file on the system. I've asked about this before and have been told that this alert means the DB has >corrected< the error. I went to the pool drive directory in question and Windows still lists duplicate files: Directory of P:\OpenDirectories\Books\_Audio Books\m\Maberry, Jonathan\Maberry, Jonathan - The Dragon Factory 01/17/2011 12:32 AM 34,693,534 Jonathan Maberry - The Dragon Factory 05-16.mp3 01/17/2011 12:32 AM 34,693,534 Jonathan Maberry - The Dragon Factory 05-16.mp3 2 File(s) 69,387,068 bytes Create DT = 4/23/16, Access= 11/14/17, Written = 1/17/2011 I also use Everything for file searching and only index the pool folders on each drive. It returns two copies of the file: C:\Mounts\491\{FB7F0C47-7844-40ED-BCD9-16A5D8756DBF}\OpenDirectories\Books\_Audio Books\M\Maberry, Jonathan\Maberry, Jonathan - The Dragon Factory\Jonathan Maberry - The Dragon Factory 05-16.mp3 C:\Mounts\509NRS\{FB7F0C47-7844-40ED-BCD9-16A5D8756DBF}\OpenDirectories\Books\_Audio Books\M\Maberry, Jonathan\Maberry, Jonathan - The Dragon Factory\Jonathan Maberry - The Dragon Factory 05-16.mp3 I use SnapRaid to generate recovery parity for the pool. It ran a sync after the DB alert and also lists two instances of the file using SnapRaid LIST command. 34693534 2011/01/17 00:32 "OpenDirectories/Books/_Audio Books/M/Maberry, Jonathan/Maberry, Jonathan - The Dragon Factory/Jonathan Maberry - The Dragon Factory 05-16.mp3" 34693534 2011/01/17 00:32 "OpenDirectories/Books/_Audio Books/M/Maberry, Jonathan/Maberry, Jonathan - The Dragon Factory/Jonathan Maberry - The Dragon Factory 05-16.mp3" I checked the entire output from snapraid using "snapraid list | sort /+31 filelist.txt | uniq -d -c" and this is the only file with duplicate primary instances. I mount the pools not the drives so drive path not listed.
  24. Just noticed that v2.8.0.0 was released last month and didn't see an announcement. Anyone else upgraded? Change log - https://www.division-m.com/downloads/drive-bender-change-log.html Installer - http://files.division-m.com/DriveBender v2800.exe
