  1. So, what should I do if I'm seeing these errors? How does it know a folder is missing? Does it fix this problem itself? (xxxxx is replacing the actual characters for privacy in this message)
  2. Drive Bender has stopped working following the automatic install of the Windows 10 Anniversary update. I am receiving the following error when starting the application. Drive Bender Error An error has occurred when communicating with the server. All my hard drives are still in Disk Manager and are accessible. I have tried to reinstall/repair Drive Bender but am then receiving the following error message. There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. I have this running on three separate PC's running Windows 10 and it has occurred on the two that have updated. The third has not updated yet.
  3. Howdy all Trialling DB (v2.4.0.0) on a Win 10 desktop and this is my first post. I've created a pool and it's populated with files. The pool includes a partition located on the PC's SSD. This drive is set as the pool landing zone. The rest of the pool comprises of five network drive locations (from a 5 bay NAS with each drive set up as an individual JBOD). I can successfully assign the pool with a drive letter mount point - this is how I was able to populate the pool with data. What I can't appear to do is to assign the pool with a networked mount point. To reset the mount points across the board, I deleted the drive letter and network mount points. Then, the PC got a reboot and from a clean slate, an attempt was made to add a network mount point to the pool. The mount point shows up on DB manager but I can't navigate to it via \\[Network Mount Point Name]. In my case, [Network Mount Point Name] = "X_Pool" Take a look at the pic of DB Manager and the mount point is showing up as a Drive Letter. Is this correct? I would have thought that the letter should be blank and the Volume label would show up as \\X_Pool Regardless, the relevant (.sil) log file and the log via DB Manager shows DB's multiple attempts at mounting the network point when DB is initiated on start up and ultimately failing even though the individual mount paths are validated and found to be OK. The final message given is: Error: Fatal error, could not successfully initialize the mount point, operation failed. Note that when I set up the pool, I did not modify the pool security via regedit as advised here: http://divisionm.zendesk.com/entries/30763584-Can-I-create-a-networked-drive-only-pool- This is because the pool includes a local drive with NTFS format (i.e. the Landing Zone SSD) and I built the pool by adding this drive first. It's not clear to me from the documentation whether this makes any difference but just in case, the NTFS local SSD partition was added to the pool first. Is this a ticketable enquiry or can someone knowledgeable point out where I've gone astray and offer up guidance as to how to fix matters?
  4. Hello DB community! After WHS2011 reinstallation the pool from the previous installation was accessible, but is no more, probably due to renaming drive letters. I get an error: Drive Bender Error An error has occurred while communicating with the server.‚Äč Reinstalling Drive Bender didn't help. Manually opening port 9885 didn't help either. There is also no Log-Directory in C:\Program Data\Division-M\DriveBender On SmartInspectorConsole I see after stopping and starting DriveBenderService: [Pool Manager] An error occurred while Drive Bender was starting. Error: Access violation at address 00A447A0 in module 'DriveBenderService.exe'. Read of address 00000068 Also I can practically not use any of the Drive Bender Tools, because non can "communicate with server". Thank you very much for any help.
  5. I just upgraded to win10 10586 and the other of my DB machines did not survive. I checked that service is running, pool instances says starting up... Tried the usual fix, uninstall - install, but I can't uninstall the product. Installer says "a program required for this install to complete could not be run." I run msiexec /uninstall, msiexec /regserver, but it did not help. log attached, any tips? MSIae667.zip
