Does DriveBender support Windows 8 RTM? (or will it soon)

Recommended Posts

Have you opened a ticket to ask the question of DB? Unless you've got a Technet id or are a MS partner I thought Win8 wouldn't be GA until later in October anyway.

MSDN yes

I didn't open a ticket yet since I was in casual mode and wanted to share the question/answer with the forum here.  Should I? I guess I could post my response back in this thread too.

Hi Jon,

Drive Bender does support Windows 8, however you need to ensure .NET 2.0 is enabled. To do this go to the start screen and type "control panel" and hit enter, then select "Programs", then "Programs and Features". From here select the "Turn Windows Features on or off" (this is in the left panel). Finally ensure ".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)" is checked.

Thanks,

Anthony

Hi guys

Installed DB on Win 8 RTM, installed fine, created pool fine and I can copy files to the drive but I can't create folders. If I try I am told that I need admin privileges to do so.

Seems odd that I can write to the drive but not create folders...

Any ideas?
